Psychotherapy

Are you living a life that doesn’t feel entirely your own?

Overwhelmed by symptoms of anxiety and/or depression?

Feeling disconnected, drowning in low self-worth and constant shame cycles?

If so, it's time to reclaim your inner power and embark on a transformative, healing journey.

The Process

I wholeheartedly believe we, as humans, are innately designed to move toward healing and wholeness. And, if we are struggling in the present moment we are most likely (unknowingly) blocking this innate, healing wisdom. Together, we will delve into the roots of your current challenges, helping you uncover insights, develop resilience, and create a safe space for you to reconnect with your body, intuition, and healing wisdom.

Psychotherapy sessions are centered around nurturing your inner self and cultivating self-compassion. I believe in fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration.

My unique approach to psychotherapy is trauma-informed and embraces the body/mind connection and embodied spirituality. My most utilized therapeutic techniques include Brainspotting, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, inner child work and Reiki.

You can learn more about these modalities below.

Psychotherapy Modalities

Trauma can have a profound impact on your overall well-being and relationships. Through a holistic approach, I create a safe space for you to explore and heal from past traumas, addressing their emotional, psychological, and physical manifestations showing up in your life.

Trauma-informed therapies work by activating our brain's natural ability to heal and reorganize itself. They help us process and integrate traumatic memories, emotions, and sensations in a safe and supportive way.

Through these trauma-informed modalities, the brain's innate capacity for neuroplasticity is harnessed. Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to adapt, change, and form new connections throughout our lives. As we engage in these therapies, we gradually build healthier, adaptive neural networks that support emotional regulation, resilience, and a sense of well-being.

*It's important to note that each person's healing journey is unique, and different modalities may resonate differently for each individual.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to activate both sides of the brain while focusing on traumatic memories. This process helps reprocess and integrate the traumatic experiences, allowing for the creation of new, healthier neural connections.

  • Brainspotting utilizes eye positions to access and process traumatic memories and experiences held in the brain and body. By focusing attention on specific "brainspots," which are related to the trauma, the therapy helps activate and rewire neural networks, leading to rapid resolution and healing.

  • Somatic experiencing focuses on the body's sensations and physical experiences associated with trauma. By gently and compassionately exploring and releasing stored tension and trauma-related sensations, new neural connections are formed, promoting a greater sense of safety, regulation, and well-being.

  • Inner child work involves connecting with and healing the wounded aspects of our inner child. I like to think of the inner child as the innocent, vulnerable part of you. By nurturing and providing safety to our younger selves, we can create new neural pathways that support emotional healing, self-compassion, and resilience.

  • Reiki is an energy healing modality based on the concept of channeling universal life force energy to promote balance, relaxation, and well-being. During a Reiki session, the practitioner gently places their hands near the client's body, allowing the energy to flow through their hands. The energy assists in removing energy blockages, promoting a sense of peace and harmony, and supporting the body's natural healing abilities. Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive practice that can be used to reduce stress, enhance relaxation, and support overall emotional and physical well-being.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy (TF-CBT) is a specialized form of therapy designed to help individuals who have experienced trauma. It combines cognitive and behavioral techniques with a trauma-focused approach to healing. In TF-CBT, the therapist works collaboratively with the client to identify and address the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors associated with the trauma. This therapy aims to provide tools for coping with distressing emotions, challenging negative beliefs, and promoting healing and resilience.

She always tells me that I’m the one doing all the hard work to achieve this growth but I truly can’t imagine having come this far with anyone else but her. She is incredible.”

She teaches self-compassion for all our parts and guides us to be gentle with ourselves. At the same time, we are doing “the work”, moving forward in personal growth. She is a gentle spirit guiding us in how to heal ourselves and how to understand and appreciate ourselves. I am so grateful for my experience with Dani!”

The metric of your power is your inner worthiness. If we are enslaved to getting our worth through others we will never step into our full power.
